Before Gordon's Arrival
Sales had dropped in both Mama Maria's and Sal's. John, the owner was not doing a good job managing the business and was overwhelmed running two restaurants, but is also stubborn and allows his kids to run free in the restaurant.
First Impressions
Gordon does not like the restaurant much and greets Fabio. When he meets John, he is told that the business was struggling because of other restaurants.

Reflections
John gets angry at Gordon's feedback, and Gordon tells him he needs to modernize or close the restaurant. In the night, Gordon sees John making pizzas and ignoring all other orders in the kitchen. The rest of the kitchen staff handles the rest, but customers are left unsatisfied with a vegetarian customer even finding a meat bone in her tomato sauce. One other customer is found vomiting in the bathroom after eating a lobster, which was old and smelled like ammonia. John is forced to call an ambulance and the restaurant is eventually shut down.
Remainder of the Visit
Restaurant & Menu Remodel
Gordon replaces the awning with a bold modern new sign, also modernizing the restaurant's interior. There is a new menu with smaller dishes and uses new ingredients.
Final Service
Gordon invites food critics and the night ends well thanks to Gordon's presence.
