Before Gordon's Arrival
First Impressions
Jean says the biggest problem with her restaurant was that the staff was always late and they were always on their phone. She also doubts they would last another month due to her debts. When Gordon arrives at the restaurant, it was empty. Sharneil tells Gordon that Jean was mean to everybody.
First Meal
Food Ordered
When Gordon tries to order food, most of it is unavailable. He orders:
- Pork chops
- Ribs
- Mac and cheese
- Iced tea
Impressions of the Food
- Iced tea: tastes like sugar syrup
- Pork chops: Not good and there are flies flying around while he eats.
- Ribs: Weird saltiness
- Mac and cheese: Microwaved and does not look good
First Dinner Service
Customers that get served complain about the flies. Gordon finds the hostess on her phone, but she tells him that she was only a volunteer. After being berated, she leaves the restaurant.
A lot of chicken is being sent back because it is very dry. Gordon finds out that the food being sent out was left over from lunch. Jean gets angry and cries.
Reflections
Remainder of the Visit
Gordon calls a meeting and tells Jean that the way things were being managed was not working. He shows Jean a clip of people complaining about her and vowing never to return.
Restaurant & Menu Remodel
Gordon manages to double the capacity and the menu was changed to southern comfort food.
Final Service
The launch is popular and even the mayor goes. Jean was put in change of the kitchen and the staff cooperated as well. After running into a little bit of problems, Ramsay holds a small pep talk and things run smoothly.
After Gordon's Departure
The Mayor awarded Jean for her years of service and June 3rd was called Ms. Jeans day. Reviews are currently positive.
